Natural Skincare Cosmetics – How to Recognize Good Products

When it comes to skincare cosmetics, I guess most people you just head to the supermarket or drugstore and buy the mostly advertised creams and potions. I can’t blame them, that’s what I used to do, too, until I got fed up with the poor results I was getting and started researching what ingredients these products contained and what the reasons for my disappointment could be. Read on for my natural skincare tips I learned (and wish I had known back then!)

Back then, I was surprised to find out that many of these products I was using had ingredients like petrolatum and chemicals in them. Petrolatum, also called mineral oil, is a very nasty ingredient to have in your skincare cosmetics products because it can irritate your skin. The same goes for most chemicals – some can even be harmful to your health. But what should a skincare product contain, then? Here are some of the best tips I know:

First things first: look for all natural products. Look for ones that do not have any fillers (ingredients that have no other function other than make the product look and feel nice without any benefits to your skin), preservatives or other harmful chemicals. There are many chemicals that can cause health issues – some, such as parabens, have even been linked to cancer. It’s better not to risk your health for a beautiful skin, especially because you can get beautiful skin with natural products, too!

Also make sure to stay away from skincare products that use fragrances, especially synthetic ones. Many synthetic fragrances will in fact contain a lot of other ingredients, which do not need to be labelled on the product packaging! That means you really have no idea what you are applying to your skin!

For example, look for these ingredients before you buy any skincare cosmetics: Avocado oil, Babassu oil and sea kelp, especially Phytessence Wakame. These have been proven by studies benefit your skin by moisturizing it and boosting its youthfulness. For example, Avocado oil is a rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, and E as well as beta-carotene. It is also high in Sterolins, which are known to reduce age spots, help heal skin damaged by the sun and fade away scars. It is an extremely effective moisturizing and nourishing oil that assists in the rejuvenation and regeneration of the skin, making it especially beneficial for aging skin.

So go for all natural skincare cosmetics. The ingredients that actually help your skin on a long term basis are natural, and if you take your skin care seriously, you should be seeing good results on your skin very soon!
